Our Mission

To develop strong foundations for young children through supporting adults and empowering children.

Children learn best through interactive hands-on experiences. What can we do to enrich the environments of our children, so they can enjoy first-hand experiences with their world? How can we provide children with these experiences in a safe and controlled environment, while also allowing children freedom? Explore the possibilities with Home Day Hero, Montessori Inspired Solutions.

Our Founder

Stacey Band was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Washington, DC in 2008, ready for new adventures and challenges. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development, the University of Michigan with a Master's in Public Administration, and went on to obtain an AMS Montessori Teaching certification from Montgomery Montessori Institute in Rockville, MD.  For 10 years our founder, Stacey Band, has worked hand-in-hand with children from birth through high school. She has nurtured children and provided parents with immeasurable support in their parenting.  Throughout her life, personally, and professionally, she has always displayed her passion to help others and encourage their success.

Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, for 2 years she worked as an Assistant Director of a non-profit organization focusing on developing leadership skills with middle and high school students. She coordinated community service and social action opportunities, in addition to fostering community relations and parent relations, and also driving membership programs and expansion projects.  Stacey also assisted with the coordination of fundraisers, retreats, and summer camp programming.

Stacey obtained her Montessori Teaching certification and hit the ground running, starting her own classroom in a school that surged in size to capacity. For 8 years, she created, established, and implemented a well-rounded standard Montessori curriculum. She worked with numerous teachers, training them, mentoring them, and overseeing their progress and development. She provided unyielding support to the parent community and strived to ensure that every child had the individualized support and attention needed to encourage their success in and outside of the classroom.

It is through this remarkable culmination of experiences that Stacey is prepared to provide tailored services and resources to parents and children, bettering their lives together.
